Strategy and leadership for a disruptive world

Advances in technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, nanotechnology and biotechnology have the potential to disrupt the rules of the game for every industry.

Challengers with big dreams, new tools and a "can do" attitude are creating new sources of value, changing the face of competition and disrupting the foundations on which our industries and institutions are built.

To prepare your business for the changes ahead you need to adopt a fresh approach to strategy and leadership, and be ready to disrupt your business before someone else does it for you.

Let disrupt it help set you on the right track to the future.

Business schools face a challenging future

This article was first published on 9 January 2013.

Education is currently undergoing a not-so-quiet revolution.  As with a number of other areas, it is being dragged into a world of both new games and new rules by some of the brightest people on the planet who have the express desire of disrupting the traditional model of university education and the smarts and finance to actually do it. One takeaway from this story is the adoption of the “freemium” business.

As the author says “ the real kicker for the consumer is that it is all virtually free”.  In a world where the prevailing pricing pressure is toward “free” it will be interesting to see whether those providing online education can implement the “freemium” model and, even if they can, whether it can ever replace the revenues that may be lost from the model that has prevailed until now.
